As Humans, we are made in the image of God and therefore have dignity and value by nature.
Ge 1:26–27
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image;
he created him in the image of God;
he created them male and female.
God demands justice for murder. In fact, if an abortion happens by accident, the person responsible is worthy of the death penalty by God’s standard.
Exodus 21:22-25
“When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
It doesn’t say “But if the mother is killed from it, life for life…” It says “If there is harm” (in general). Harm to who? Either one.
We are commanded to rescue those who are on their way to the slaughter, regardless of what is legal in our country.
Prov 24: 11 Rescue those who are being taken away to death;
hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.
12 If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,”
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it,
and will he not repay man according to his work?
